6 Week Improver's Yoga Course

The 6 week Improver's Course carries on where the 6 week Beginner's Course left off.

From Thursday 20th February 2025, yoga students will spend 6 weeks expanding their knowledge of yoga and increasing their repertoire of postures.

The course is suitable for those who have completed the 6 week beginner's course or those who have limited yoga knowledge and experience. It will allow individuals to improve fitness gradually as participants work to improve muscular strength, flexibility, balance and stability.

All participants are encouraged to stay within their own personal limits, with modifications being offered for many of the yoga postures.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga opens up the world of yoga to individuals who, due to some kind of physical limitation, wouldn't normally be able to take part in a regular yoga session. This latest incarnation of yoga helps to improve strength, flexibility, balance and overall mobility from a safe and supported position. It is targetted towards seniors, those with disabilities, or those recovering from injury or illness. It is also suitable for those who are simply out of condition and would like to start yoga from a more supported position.

The chair offers an excellent foundation for many of the yoga postures. All of the exercises are performed from either a seated position, or standing using the chair for support.

This fabulous new session makes physical yoga accessible to everyone. Various breathing techniques and relaxation exercises to calm the body and mind will also be explored, allowing individuals to benefit from everything yoga offers, without being limited by physical ability.

In several studies, chair yoga resulted in improvements in mobility, lung function, flexibility, balance, sit to standing time, self-confidence and overall quality of life was seen in all subjects.

The class is suitable for anyone and is particularly suited to seniors who are looking to maintain mobility as they go into their later years.

Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to discuss chair yoga and whether it may be suitable for you.
