6 Week Beginner's Yoga Course

This brand new 6 week beginner's yoga course is a rare opportunity to learn yoga from the very beginning. The course is designed for those who have no previous experience and really want to learn yoga, but are apprehensive about attending an established class.

The course will start easy, learning the basics in a cared-for environment where individuals are encouraged to perform postures to the best of their ability, increasing the complexity and intensity gradually over 6 weeks.

All participants will initially be taught easier, modified versions of postures, with progressions being introduced gradually over time. Doing it this way, participants can stay with easier versions of postures they already know, whilst others can increase intensity if they so wish and progress at a pace that suits them.

As absolute beginners, everybody in the session will be at the same level, acquiring the same knowledge at the same time. By the end of the course, each participant will be familair with all the yoga postures, know all the terminology and will feel confident performing the exercises with any appropriate modifications.

Yoga is a wonderful practice and a great way of keeping fit - there's a reason why its history can be traced back some 5,000 years. The course will cover all aspects over yoga, from physical postures which help to improve strength, flexibility, balance and stability, to breathing exercises which invigorate the body, boost performance and calm the mind.

Spaces will be very limited and the course is available to book now.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga opens up the world of yoga to individuals who, due to some kind of physical limitation, wouldn't normally be able to take part in a regular yoga session. This latest incarnation of yoga helps to improve strength, flexibility, balance and overall mobility from a safe and supported position. It is targetted towards seniors, those with disabilities, or those recovering from injury or illness. It is also suitable for those who are simply out of condition and would like to start yoga from a more supported position.

The chair offers an excellent foundation for many of the yoga postures. All of the exercises are performed from either a seated position, or standing using the chair for support.

This fabulous new session makes physical yoga accessible to everyone. Various breathing techniques and relaxation exercises to calm the body and mind will also be explored, allowing individuals to benefit from everything yoga offers, without being limited by physical ability.

In several studies, chair yoga resulted in improvements in mobility, lung function, flexibility, balance, sit to standing time, self-confidence and overall quality of life was seen in all subjects.

The class is suitable for anyone and is particularly suited to seniors who are looking to maintain mobility as they go into their later years.

Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to discuss chair yoga and whether it may be suitable for you.
